Eucalyptus Globulus is a eucalyptus oil from the large, aromatic eucalyptus trees of the Myrtaceae family. The tree’s leaves are steam distilled to produce the earthy, fresh oil that is popular in personal care products and spa treatments.
Eucalyptus Globulus is known for its cleansing properties and stimulating scent, and like other eucalyptus oil uses, it is often applied topically or diffused aromatically. In fact, Eucalyptus Globulus essential oil can be found in Young Living’s R.C.™ essential oil blend. Eucalyptus Radiata
Like most species of eucalyptus, Eucalyptus radiata is native to Australia. A very large flowering tree in the myrtle family, Eucalyptus radiata produces fragrant leaves and is also known informally as narrow-leaved peppermint. Eucalyptus is an evergreen tree that grows to the height of over 300 feet, making it one of the world’s tallest trees. It used to be known as a fever tree. There are over 700 varieties of eucalyptus, with over 500 that produce an essential oil. Many of them produce the same actions of Tea Tree and Myrtle essential oils, like all members of the myrtaceae family.
In 2011 a study at Hildelberg University found that Eucalyptus radiata has the second largest abundance of 1.8 cineol (eucalyptol) after Eucalyptus globulus.

Eucalyptus essential oil uses
- Use its cleansing benefits by adding a couple drops to your favorite facial cream. Be careful of the sensitive eye area, since Eucalyptus Globulus can leave a tingling sensation.
- Add to V-6 Vegetable Oil complex or olive oil for a calming and refreshing massage.
- Inhale directly or rub onto your chest for an uplifting, refreshing experience.
- For dogs, dilute according to size. Rub into chest, ears or spine. Diffuse without diluting for respiratory support. Also helpful for its insect repelling properties.
- Use in our recipe along with Cedarcide as a base for extra mosquito-repelling power.
