Hip & Joint (formerly Green Eggs) is a daily supplement with ingredients that can protect and support joints including:

Pure New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel (Perna canaliculus)

Green Lipped Mussel is being studied as a safe alternative for dogs who are unable to tolerate the side effects of NSAIDs (non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).

Both Green Lipped Mussels and NSAIDs are what are known as COX (cyclooxygenase) inhibitors. COX enzymes lead to inflammation by triggering specific immune chemicals called prostaglandins.

Rich in glycosaminoglycans (or GAGs), including chondroitin sulfate. Green Lipped Mussels are an important ingredient to help strengthen and build joint cartilage in your dog.

Green Lipped Mussels are an excellent source of anti-inflammatory fats including EPA and DHA. They are rich in fats with an average 6-10% EPA and DHA content.

A 2007 study gave dogs Green Lipped Mussel for 8 weeks. The results showed a significant improvement in pain and mobility and most of the dogs didn’t need other pain meds.

Sustainably farmed in New Zealand. The Green Lipped Mussels in Green Eggs are carefully freeze-dried to protect heat-sensitive nutrients, widely bioavailable and a great source of vitamins and minerals.

NEM® Brand Eggshell Membrane

NEM® is a rich source of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) including chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid, and collagen.

In 2017, a randomized trial showed NEM® reduced exercise-related joint pain in dogs within just 8 days. Other published clinical trials have shown a pain reduction in 7 - 10 days.

In vivo and in vitro studies show NEM® can decrease levels of inflammatory substances associated with joint inflammation. NEM® is also clinically proven to help protect joint cartilage.

NEM® is sourced from human-grade eggs like the ones we use for baked goods. Other eggshell membranes often come from discarded or unhealthy eggs deemed unfit for humans.

Poria (Wolfiporia extenda) Mushroom

Used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years, Poria is a mass of mycelium that grows on the roots of trees and is not technically a mushroom. It's less than 5% in starch and rich in immune-modulating beta-glucans. Four Leaf Rover's Poria is a minimum 30% beta-glucan.

Poria is often used not just for joint inflammation, but also for swelling and edema in paws and ears, as well as skin issues.

The Poria mushrooms in Green Eggs are 100% organic and grown on trees the way nature intended, not grown in a lab like many inferior products are.

Curcumin

The active substance in turmeric, Curcumin promotes a healthy inflammatory response and helps to improve joint health.

The Curcumin in Green Eggs is a highly concentrated source of Curcumin, it's carbon-14 tested to ensure it contains at least 95% curcuminoids. Carbon-14 testing is done to measure how much carbon-14 is in every sample and compares the result to international standards. The higher the bio-based carbon, the more naturally sourced the Curcumin. This guarantees your dog's Curcumin is free of the synthetic products that are widely spread throughout the supplement industry.

Rory Roars Her Thanks for Green Eggs! ?????

Our Beagle, Rory, is just over a year old but has luxating patellas. When we adopted her the day before Christmas 2021, she was thin and limped, favoring her left rear leg. We have given her Green Eggs for almost a month now and can see a big difference in her well-being. She runs and jumps and doesn't limp at all any more. I give Green Eggs the credit for the positive changes I see in Rory.

Can my dog take this with other joint products?

Yes! Hip & Joint is completely natural and will not interact with most joint products. It pairs perfectly with Safe-Sea. If you have concerns, contact your holistic vet.

Can I give more than the recommended amount?

Yes. In fact, you should give double the amount for the first 7-10 days as a loading dose. You can keep the double dose for longer, but after 14 days, you should start to see the benefits and can decrease the amount.

Does Hip & Joint contain glucosamine?

Yes, there is naturally occurring glucosamine in Hip & Joint. Both the NEM and green-lipped mussels in Hip & Joint contain a wide variety of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), including glucosamine.

Does Hip & Joint contain chondroitin?

Yes, the NEM in Hip & Joint is a naturally rich source of chondroitin sulfate, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs).

What if my dog has egg allergies?

If your dog has an allergy to eggs, he might react to Hip & Joint. He may also have an allergy to green-lipped mussel, although this is rare. If your dog has sensitivities and you're concerned, start with a smaller dose and gradually increase the amount.

Is your Curcumin ingredient non-synthetic?

Absolutely. Our curcumin is standardized to 95% curcuminoids, the active compound found in turmeric. It's also carbon-14 tested which verifies that there are no synthetics in the ingredients and that the curcumin is 100% natural.
