Make a 3 ring binder with these tabs:
GENERAL NOTES - Write the progression of events, progesterone levels, onset of labor, panting, digging, water breaking, etc. This helps anyone who is assisting to know exactly what has happened and when. You can also refer to this if you breed this girl again and want to see how her labor progressed. As puppies are born, record them on the Whelping Chart. I usually move the GENERAL NOTES to the back once labor has concluded and keep everything else that occurs behind the other tabs.
WHELPING CHART
DAM TREATMENTS - This is where I make headings to keep track of anything related to the mom that is repetitive. My usual headings are FOOD, WATER/LIVER WATER, CALCIUM SOURCES, ELECTROLYTES, OUTSIDE, CLEAN NURSERY, NUTRISTAT, PAIN TREATMENTS, MEDS, ICE CREAM (my girls like that as a separate heading so I remember to give it to them LOL!)

LITTER TREATMENTS - I record BIO-SENSOR, NAIL TRIMMING, PUPPY CULTURE, TAIL MAINTENANCE (for banded/docked breeds), TRAINING, etc. on the LITTER TREATMENTS PAGE
INDIVIDUAL TABS FOR EACH COLOR ASSIGNED TO A PUPPY ACCORDING TO THE COLOR OF COLLAR THEY ARE WEARING
